Made In Ghana Policy Document
The promotion of the “Made-in-Ghana” policy is meant to support the attainment of this vision. The aim of the policy is to create awareness among the Ghanaian populace on the need to patronise “Made-in-Ghana” goods and services. This, in turn, is expected to stimulate higher demand for products which would translate into increased production, processing and distribution along the value chain of targeted products. Some of the benefits of stimulating increased demand and expansion in domestic production could be in the reduction of the country’s import bill and an improvement in Ghana’s trade balance.
The formulation process for this policy focused on a multi-stakeholder approach involving the active participation of all key stakeholders from the public, private and civic sectors. The views and inputs obtained from the wide-ranging consultation process informed the issues and policy prescriptions contained in this policy document.
